Karl Lagerfeld has cancelled his Paris Fashion Week show.
The designer was scheduled to show the latest collection from his eponymous line on 3 October, but according to WWD he has now been removed from the schedule. Why? He's working on a more accessible new line.
Rumour has it that the Karl Lagerfeld label will continue in a more commercial vein and with less involvement from the man himself. Instead he plans to launch a 'masstige' collection (that's a fusion of mass-market and prestige, don't you know) that he will sell online. Work is already under way and the brand new label will apparently make its debut in time for autumn/winter 2011. The genius of Lagerfeld channelled into a label that we can afford? We can't wait.
Karl won't be resting on his laurels during Paris fashion week though - aside from the small matter of the Chanel show, he will also be unveiling the collection of bags that he has designed for Hogan.
